About the Workshop

Coloured pencils are a great medium, with minimal mess and easy application, but they can be rather challenging, especially if you have never worked with coloured Pencils before. This 2 Day workshop has been designed for anyone interested in pencil art, even if you have never done any drawing since leaving school. Using the Colourfix smooth paper to create this subject allows those new to coloured pencils or even those coming from pastel art to learn the techniques quicker & easier before, trying out one of our other coloured pencil workshops where we use smooth paper;  a different technique altogether and can be far more challenging.
The Colourfix smooth paper is great for coloured pencil art as it grabs the pencil immediately and leaves strong pigment behind. The application is much easier to manipulate on this paper than smooth paper. The two days offer a more relaxed approach, allowing more time to create and learn with 1 to 1 help always available if you are struggling a little.

To begin the day, you will receive a workshop booklet and Karen starts with a quick run through of the 'Do's & Dont's Checklist to ensure you get the best out of the medium, this is then followed up with the first demonstration. Each demo helps to  break the workshop into bite size pieces and explains how each section is created using a layering technique.

The pencils supplied in both kits have been coded by Karen herself and matches the pencils she uses in the workshop - each pencil colour code is written in the workshop notes thus making it much easier to select the correct pencil immediately.
