How does this paper compare to others?
Below are magnified images of the Touch paper comparing them next to both the Pastelmat & Colourfix paper so you can see how the differences in tooth.
Pastelmat v's 'Touch' paperMi-tientes touch has far more of a tooth than Pastelmat has. You can feel the grain on the 'Touch' paper with your fingertips whilst the Pastelmat paper feels smooth, almost questioning if there is a tooth at all. Toothy papers allow for heavier layers, but a sponge is better to blend pastels with than using fingers.

Colourfix v's 'Touch' paperThe tooth on both the Colourfix and Mi-tientes Touch papers are almost indentical but in my opinion, Colourfix has slightly more than the Mi-tientes. Both papers offer numerous choices of colour, the colourfix offers both neutral and bold colours where as the Touch paper offers more muted, earthy tones, so at least you have a wider choice of one against the other.

What can it achieve?
The Mi-tientes touch paper is most suited to pastels, however it can easily be used for other mediums too such as Coloured pencils. This paper was used in a previous pencil workshop back in 2017 where the subject created was the eye of a Snow Leopard. The paper colour used was 'Tobacco' and chosen as I felt it would act as the perfect base to strengthen the vibrancy of the colours used, working particularly well with the white tones. Up close, you can see on the left image that the grain is noticeable and however hard I tried, it was not possible to smooth this out with pencil alone, however you could use a solvent such as zest-it pencil blend.
The great thing about using a textured paper like 'Touch' means you do not need to apply as many layers or add as much pressure with the pencil as the paper grabs the pigment extremely well. In the image below, to the left of the central, there are around 4-5 layers applied whilst the right side only has 2-3, not a huge difference but you can see how effective it becomes. Had I been working on smooth white paper, this level of detail would have required 10 - 15 layers and probably triple the time too.
